1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Zealous Abode ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Zealous Abode is a family organization application that provides calendar management, task tracking, meal planning, and gamification features for households. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for the security of the Google account used to sign in and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Parents or legal guardians may create sub-accounts for minor family members under their supervision.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Upload malicious code or content
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Share your account access with third parties

5. Subscription and Payments

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods.

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

6. Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA Users)

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase. To exercise this right, contact us through the feedback form in the application or email us at support@zealousabode.com.

By using the Service immediately upon subscribing, you acknowledge that you may lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed during the withdrawal period, in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

7. Free Tier

The free tier is provided at our discretion and may be modified, limited, or discontinued with 30 days' notice. We reserve the right to convert free accounts to paid accounts or to terminate free accounts that remain inactive for an extended period, with prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Zealous Abode and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your family members. This license terminates when you delete your content or account.

10. Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information, including your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Zealous Abode shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any mandatory consumer protection rights.

12. Service Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for cause, including violation of these Terms. Where possible, we will provide reasonable notice before termination and an opportunity to export your data. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease, and we will handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes at least 30 days before they take effect, via the application or email where available. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you may terminate your account before the changes take effect.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you will benefit from any mandatory provisions of consumer protection law in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions. You may bring legal proceedings in your country of residence.

EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
